With Great Sadness...

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we inform you of the passing of Danny Moss. Danny was a Steward for Local 2222 and a Verizon Technician out of the Herndon Garage. A memorial will be held to celebrate the life of Danny Moss and will be held at O’Sullivan’s Pub in Herndon, Saturday, June 17th at 3:00pm.

CWA Announces Support of Tom Perriello for Governor

The Communications Workers of America (CWA) today announced their support of Tom Perriello’s campaign for Governor of Virginia. “When our members at AT&T recently went out on strike, Tom Perriello was the only candidate for Governor to call and ask how he could help,” said Richard Hatch, President of the CWA Virginia State Council and Local 2201 in Richmond.

CWA / AT&T 2017 “Orange” Contract Bargaining February 13, 2017 – Bargaining Report #16 The Union and the Company met today and the Union passed proposals on job security, vacations, absence, transfer language, exchange time, holidays, benefits and basis of compensation.

Rally for AT&TMobility Contract

We will meet in front of Clarendon AT&T Mobility Store location at 3000 Wilson Blvd #100, Arlington, VA 22201 (Orange Line Metro) and then move to the Chinatown Store in D.C.

AT&T Mobility Strike Vote Results

The strike vote results are in and over 93% of AT&T Mobility workers voted yes. That means, if necessary, we will go on strike to get what we deserve at AT&T. AT&T is a multi-billion dollar corporation that is making record profits because of our hard work taking care of the customers, selling the phones, and maintaining the network. We deserve our fair share.

A&T Members Deserve Fair Share of Profits

Yesterday, AT&T reported huge profits for the fourth quarter and full year – that includes record profits for Mobility! Chief Financial Officer John Stephens said Mobility had a “terrific quarter” with strong subscriber growth and low churn. Those huge profits and customer satisfaction are thanks to our hard work as AT&T Mobility workers.

CWA Joe Beirne Foundation's scholarship

Avaya Performance Award
ATTENTION AVAYA MEMBERS: CWA Local 2222 has been informed that the fiscal year 2016 Avaya Performance Award for eligible represented employees will be the minimum amount of $580 and will appear in paychecks payable Dec 9,2016.
Verizon Lateral Freeze
This message was received from Verizon: Effective November 17, 2016 through January 16, 2017, Director - Andre Sanders of the Childs’ organization, will freeze all lateral and downgrade movements of the Cable Splicing Technician, Systems Technicians, Outside Plant Technician, Services Technician title in NORVA/DC/Suburban Maryland.

What is the Tobacco User Premium and how do I avoid it? Frontier medical plans include a Tobacco User Premium – an additional $50 per month – if you or your covered dependent(s) are tobacco users.  Individuals who use tobacco products at least once a week are considered tobacco users.
Overtime Administration Commencing September 1, 2000, the limitation on forced overtime (“cap”) for the remainder of 2000 shall be 10 hours per employee per payroll week. Commencing January 1, 2001, this cap on forced overtime shall be 8 hours per employee per payroll week.
AT&T National Benefit Agreements update
CWA: It’s Time for AT&T to End its Demands for Health Care Cuts at Mobility Washington, D.C. -- CWA’s AT&T Mobility bargaining team is working to negotiate a new national bargained benefit plan covering 45,000 AT&T Mobility workers.
What is the TPP?
CWA has been opposing the Trans-Pacific Partnership for years.  The TPP is another trade agreement that would result in the loss of more jobs just as NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) and CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) have done in the past.  As Unionists and activists, we should not stay on the sidelines and let this disasterous agreement be signed into law.
Verizon 2016 Tentative Agreement
The attachment below contains changes made in the Verizon contract in 2016. Items not addressed in the document remain the same as the 2012-2015 contract. A paper copy will be delivered to all members prior to the ratification vote.
